Frequently Asked Questions

I am frequently being asked questions about wedding flowers, here are some of the commonly asked questions which may be of help to future brides.

Q – Do you cover wedding venues outside of Aberystwyth?

A – Yes I do, I have delivered weddings throughout Wales, there’s an extra delivery charge (per mile). We routinely cover all of Ceredigion.

Q: I have a limited budget, are you able to work within my budget?

A: Yes, I can make your day special, even with a limited budget, as long as you don't ask the impossible!

Q: Do I need to know anything about flowers?

A: No, I have been a professional floral designer for many years and have literally made hundreds of wedding bouquets, with the experience I have, I can help you design the perfect wedding flowers to suit the style of your wedding, so no need to worry.

Q: Do you supply pins with the buttonholes?

A: Yes, I do, and safety pins for little page boys.

Q:  I have been told to get quotes from another florist, would you advise this?

A: I would advise this if you are on a tight budget, but be warned - you do get what you pay for,  also check for hidden extras that may not be discussed at your initial consultation, ie do they charge for delivery and set up, are they using the best quality flowers of the highest grade.  Can you see photos of their work, have they decorated your venue before.  I would go with your gut instinct.

Q: Is it possible to give me a quote by email or over the telephone?

A: I find trying to give a personal quotation without having a one to one meeting is extremely difficult.  Without knowing the style of the bouquet and table centres you would like, and the flowers you require, I would not be able to give you an accurate quotation.  All my designs are bespoke to each bride, so each quotation is personal to each bride. Two weddings are never the same, and you wouldn’t want them to be.

Q: I am getting married on St Valentine’s Day, would you be able to help me?

A: Yes, I specialise in wedding and event flowers, and work from my studio.  I do not have the extra work load at the key times that florist shops have  i.e. Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter.  The only disadvantage you will have at these times is the cost of the flowers. You should expect to pay at least double. I am unfortunately unable to take on any orders between Christmas and New Year due to supply problems. Silk or preserved flowers make a really good alternative

Q: What would you suggest to be a realistic budget for my wedding flowers?

A: The amount that is spent on wedding flowers varies for each bride. It is better to be up front and honest with your florist about the amount you wish to spend on flowers, that way they will be able to suggest flowers that are in season and within budget.

 Q. Do I need to return the stands and vases?

All stands and vases must be returned within two days of the wedding, if you would like me to collect them from the venue please let me know in advance. A collection charge may apply. Any broken or missing vases or stands must be paid for, at replacement value.

Q. When is payment due?

I will not order your flowers until they have been paid for in full. Flowers need to be ordered seven days in advance. Any additional flowers added to your order within seven days of the wedding must be paid for at time of ordering
